Tags, Tags, And More Tags
So I’ve never really tagged my posts in the past. I started looking through my search history and the inlinks to other areas of my blog and really thinking about it.

So you’re probably thinking, “What is this and where the Hell am I?” Basically, I’m taking my feet off the dashboard and (finally) getting on to some real work here.
Well, as you can probably see, I’ve changed the theme I’m using on the old blog here. I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile and I finally took the time to fix the Color Paper Theme and make the old switcheroo. But that’s not all that’s changed or even all that’s changing here at Start Page Design.
Maybe not so obvious to the casual reader, I’ve gotten rid of a lot of the Ads that were floating around on the page. I found that they weren’t getting clicked, and really added a distraction rather than providing a service. Now that’s not to say that I won’t add ads back in the future (but I probably won’t.)

I’ve been testing the Color Paper theme on a site that I’m building out for a little while now, and was annoyed when the recent upgrade to Wordpress 2.7 caused the site to crash. I received this error when upgrading:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_comments() (previously declared in /wp-includes/comment.php:180) in /wp-content/themes/colorpaper/functions.php on line 37
Being who I am I originally attempted to go to DreamTemplate the creators of the template to see if they had a fix. Unfortunately I was unable to find one. So I jumped into the code and started playing around.
Well, I’m redoing and rewriting and rebuilding this and a couple other sites right now. I think I somehow busted my RSS feed when I upgraded to WordPress version 2.5.1. I hope that I’ll be able to get it fixed soon. I’m currently upgrading to version 2.6. Already I know I’ve corrected half the settings that I forgot to correct when I did my last upgrade.
Needless to say I hope I finish this process in the next day or two. I’m guessing it will take me a week or more to get the whole site up and running correctly. I have at least one other site that I have to get up this week, so it might not happen.
In some other news, I’m thinking of adding Web Hosting to what I offer. I’ve worked in the industry for a few years now and I think that it’s time I started to take the knowledge I’ve gained and use it for my own benefit…and yours. So keep and eye out and I should have some great new stuff for you soon.
Almost a month ahead of schedule, and much to my chagrin, (See my Twitter for details) WordPress has released version 2.6. Now regardless of the recent injected (and suprisingly worthless) scripts that I found in some of my code (a.k.a I got hacked due to a weak password and can only blame myself) I considered NOT upgrading to the latest version.
The biggest reason for my lack of desire to upgrade? I just did it! To version 2.5.1.
Anyway, I have since changed my mind, and if you take a moment to review the video below, I believe you’ll understand why. But in case you don’t get it: More Featury Goodness!!!
I’ve made a few changes to my blogroll. So you should take a look at some of the new sites I’m linking to. I personally follow them all in my RSS reader, and strongly suggest you take a look.
I’m trying to lean more towards good design, SEO and freelancing sites, and I’ll probably add more as I find them. So take a gander and enjoy.
