Well tomorrow is the Super Bowl, and that mean barbecues. Well, what would a barbecue be without some good hamburgers? I’ll tell you what it would be….a complete and utter waste, that’s what.
Now some people will try to pawn off those flimsy flabby thin little pre-made patties that they got from the grocery store as hamburgers, they’re really nothing more than a waste of time and money.
Real Hamburgers must be made by hand. Lovingly crafted from personally selected meat, and flavored with just the right amount of spice.
I will tell you how to make one hamburger in the following recipe, merely repeat the process for as many burgers as you need.
Hamburgers
Ingredients:
1/2 lb Grade A Top Choice Ground Beef (as different cuts have different flavors, choose your favorite.)
1 tsp diced white onion
1/2 tsp. pressed garlic
2 dash black pepper
2 dash sea salt
1 dash white pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Implements of Destruction:
Cutting Board
Barbecue Grill (Infrared or Charcoal, NOT Gas)
Barbecue Spatula (to flip the burgers)
Your Two Hands
Acceptance that your hands will be dirty
OK, this one is pretty straight forward. Take the Beef and all the ingredients and mix hem together. make sure that you mix enough that all the ingredients are blended together well.
Form the Beef into as close to a circular patty as possible. Preciseness is up to you, but you want a patty that’s about 6 inches in diameter and about 1 inch thick.
Grill the patties under direct heat. You’ll want to flip them evey 2-3 minutes to make sure they are evenly cooked on both sides.
Use this list to measure your cooking:
Rare: 2-3 min per side, dark pink interior, light brown exterior. (due to health concerns, this is not recommended)
Medium Rare: 4-5 min per side, light pink interior, medium brown exterior. (also not recommended)
Medium: 5-6 min per side, thin line of pink in the middle, medium brown exterior.
Medium Well: 6-8 min per side, light brown throughout, darker exterior.
Well: 8+ min per side, brown throughout, dark brown to black exterior.
Eat well and enjoy.
